Hungary Foundation (HF) is pleased to announce a call for applications for the Andrássy National Security Fellowship - a six-month fellowship program aimed to cultivate the next generation of Hungarian strategic thinkers committed to strengthening ties between Hungary and the United States. During their time in Washington DC, Andrássy Fellows will be paired with a program at a host institution that focuses on Strategy and Statecraft, StratCom, Defense, and Energy Security, and that matches their main interests. Adrássy Fellows will undertake a specific research program rooted in their area of interest based on the research plan they submitted and will conduct independent research. Andrássy Fellows will participate in outreach to the U.S. policy community and produce high-quality policy analysis. Andrássy Fellows will initiate and organize public events either related to their specific research interests or as part of their host institution’s overall work. They will feature an expert roundtable event hosted by their institution and they will publish an analytical paper showcasing their work. Fellows will also work with the host institution’s staff on a full spectrum of think tank processes including policy briefings, brainstorming sessions, networking, and program planning and administration. Hungary Foundation will provide a $6500 monthly stipend to cover living expenses in Washington DC, roundtrip travel, support for domestic professional travel and assistance with the Fellow’s visa application process. The Fellowship was conceived in the spirit and legacy of Hungarian statesman Gyula Andrássy, who served as Prime Minister of Hungary (1867–1871) and Foreign Minister of Austria-Hungary.
